Former patient alleges she was sexually assaulted at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital

A former patient is suing Chicago Lakeshore Hospital over allegations she was sexually assaulted at the medical facility.

The patient, identified only as "Jane Doe M.P." filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Signature Healthcare Services LLC alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a patient at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital and alleges she was sexually assaulted on June 19 at the facility. She alleges the defendant asked her not to report the alleged assault to the Chicago Police Department. The suit states her family reported the alleged assault June 26 to the police and the plaintiff was discharged from Chicago Lakeshore June 28.

The plaintiff holds Signature Healthcare Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly carelessly and negligently failed to supervise the activities of its employees and failed to supervise its patients and failed to supervise its employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks for damages according to proof and for such other and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Craig M. Sandberg....
