Nurse Practitioner's Failure to Treat Clinically-Infected Diabetic Foot Ulcer Results in Transmetatarsal Amputation

Chicago, IL – A 49-year old man filed his lawsuit alleging medical malpractice against Oak Street Health, LLC. This lawsuit results from a failure to care for and treat the plaintiff’s clinically-infected diabetic foot ulcer at Oak Street Health – Avalon Park (1715 East 95th Street, Chicago, IL 60617) on January 26, 2018. As a result the defendants’ failure, the plaintiff’s then-localized and untreated infection spread resulting in developing gas gangrene, which required multiple procedures/surgeries and resulting transmetatarsal amputation (“TMA”) of the right foot.
