Chicago, IL – Following the death of their mother (F-74) after surgery, a Chicagoland family sought out and hired Kansas-based Shawn Parcells (doing business as National Autopsy and Tissue Recovery Services Inc. d/b/a National Autopsy Services, LLC and National Autopsy Services (“National Autopsy”)) to perform an autopsy on their mother. Parcells held himself out as a pathologist assistant. When Parcells and National Autopsy never provided a report of the autopsy to the family and left many questions left unanswered, the family wanted justice.

Today, with the filing of a lawsuit against Parcells, justice is being sought for the various wrongs he committed in this case. The lawsuit alleges a raft of offenses including, but not limited to, the following: (1) Negligent Interference with the Right to Possess a Corpse, (2) Violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (“ICFA”), (3) Violation of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act (“KCPA”), (4) Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress, and (5) Breach of Contract.

If you have or anyone you know has retained Shawn Parcells and/or National Autopsy to find out the cause of a loved one's death and are concerned about the circumstances surrounding that autopsy or are concerned why no autopsy was performed, please do not hesitate to contact me immediately.
