F-44 was involved in a pedestrian vs. automobile traffic accident on March 3, 2001. At approximately 10:20 p.m., the plaintiff was crossing West Ontario Street at North LaSalle Street in Chicago, Illinois. Plaintiff was crossing Ontario Street on the west side of LaSalle Street. The defendant was making a left-hand turn from northbound LaSalle Street to westbound one-way Ontario Street. Plaintiff was struck while in the crosswalk. Following the accident, the plaintiff was taken by the Chicago Fire Department EMS to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for medical care. Thereafter, the plaintiff had two surgeries and various follow-up medical treatment/care.

Injuries: Plaintiff sustained an avulsion fracture of the proximal fibula of her right leg, as well as an anterior cruciate ligament tear. Plaintiff underwent right knee arthrotomy and complex repair of posterolateral corner and common peroneal nerve decompression. Thereafter, Plaintiff underwent right knee arthroscopy assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using irradiated patellar tendon allograft.
